Why Kirk Herbstreit won't predict the winner of Georgia vs Ole Miss

Why ESPN "College GameDay" analyst Kirk Herbstreit isn't predicting the winner of Georgia football versus Ole Miss

ESPN college football expert and "College GameDay" analyst Kirk Herbstreit won't be predicting the winner of the Georgia Bulldogs versus Ole Miss Rebels game on Saturday. Herbstreit will be in Athens, Georgia, for GameDay, which starts at 9 a.m. ET and will be televised on ESPN.

Herbstreit won't be making a prediction on GameDay because he is a commentator of the Georgia-Ole Miss game. Commentators generally aren't allowed to make predictions for the games they are calling.

GameDay typically makes their game predictions right before noon ET. GameDay legend Lee Corso no longer makes picks, so Georgia fans will see analysts Pat McAfee and Desmond Howard along with former Alabama coach Nick Saban make picks. Additionally, country music artist Jelly Roll will serve as a guest picker.

GameDay will be held on the University of Georgia's campus in Myers Quad. The show will feature a performance from musicians Bailey Zimmerman and Luke Combs.

College football analyst Kirk Herbstreit stands on the field

Georgia is seven point favorites against Ole Miss. The Bulldogs need to beat the Rebels in order to stay on track to make the College Football Playoff.

Herbstreit along with Chris Fowler and Holly Rowe are ABC's commentator team covering the Georgia-Ole Miss game. The Georgia-Ole Miss game kicks off at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 18 and will be televised on ABC.
