Barcelona manager Hansi Flick confirmed that Lamine Yamal and Fermin Lopez will be part of the squad for the upcoming clash against Girona.
However, both players will not be rushed into playing the full 90 minutes as they are still managing their recovery and match fitness.
Flick made it clear in his pre-match press conference that the duo’s involvement will be limited, which means they are likely to come off the bench later in the game.
This update leaves Barcelona with a limited attacking setup, especially with Ferran Torres, Robert Lewandowski, and Dani Olmo all ruled out due to injuries.
Despite the shortage of forwards, reports from SPORT suggest that the German coach has already devised a plan to maintain balance in the attack.
Marcus Rashford to lead the line
As reported before, summer signing Marcus Rashford could start as the central striker, a role that suits his pace and physicality.
On the wings, Flick is expected to deploy Roony Bardghji on the right side, while the left wing could see a surprise inclusion in the form of Alejandro Balde.

The Spanish full-back has been tested in that advanced role in the past, and Flick may be ready to use that tactical tweak against Girona.
The manager’s decision not to start Lamine and Fermin is seen as a precautionary move to avoid aggravating any physical issues.
With Bardghji likely to take charge of the right flank, Balde’s pace and energy could provide width and attacking depth from the left.
Flick’s tactical flexibility could be key
Flick’s ability to adapt his formation and test unconventional options continues to stand out.
If Balde’s attacking role fails to deliver the desired impact, Flick also has the option of introducing young Toni Fernandez, who could make his first appearance of the season.
For now, all eyes will be on how Flick sets up his frontline against Girona, as his tactical creativity could once again play a crucial role in helping Barcelona overcome their injury crisis and build up much-needed momentum in La Liga.
