The streak goes on.

Marion Local (OH) has extended the longest active high school football winning streak in the nation.

The Flyers have now won 73 games in a row after their victory on Friday night.

This time, a week after needing double overtime, it was much easier. Marion Local rolled to a 42-0 win over Minster.

The standouts from Maria Stein, Ohio are now 9-0 on the regular season with one week to play, and as always, it's a doozy coming up in Week 10.

Marion Local will take on Coldwater in one of the best rivalries in Ohio. It's a game that always puts up a 50-50 number that boggles the mind of everyone else in the state.

It's also often a classic between two teams that always have state championship aspirations.

Coldwater has been just off the pace this season, at 6-3 (including 5-2 in the MAC).

Marion Local has already claimed a share of the MAC title, but a loss by the Flyers in Week 10 would open the door for St. Henry to claim a share of the crown.

The Flyers are pretty much set for playoff positioning, lined up to be the No. 1 seed in Division VII, Region 28 regardless of what happens in Week 10.

In Ohio's new system of 12 teams per region making the playoffs, Marion Local will also have a bye in the opening week of the postseason.

So this will be Marion Local's last game for a couple weeks when Coldwater comes to Maria Stein. Win number 74 in a row will be on the line in a rivalry classic.
