Borussia Mönchengladbach's new sporting director Rouven Schröder was defiant after a latest Bundesliga setback, and ahead of a daunting task against champions Bayern Munich.
"We are playing at home and it starts at zero," Schröder said, adding that Eugen Polanski will remain coach for the October 25 game.
"The conviction is there. We are not naive, but we are clear: Eugen is our coach," Schröder said.
Schröder took over from Roland Virkus earlier in the week, but there was no instant turnaround as a 3-1 defeat at Union Berlin on Friday left Gladbach bottom of the table, winless for the season and for a club record 14 Bundesliga matches overall.
"The match showed some good things, but of course also some things that weren't so good, especially the start to a game like this. We'll be working on that bit by bit now," he said.
Polanski, who is acting as caretaker since Gerardo Seoane was dismissed, was more frank, speaking of "a very sobering evening" after his fourth game in charge.
Gladbach quickly trailed 2-0 but at least didn't fall apart like last month against Eintracht Frankfurt where they fell 6-0 behind after 47 minutes before losing 6-4 because Frankfurt switched off. They pulled one back in Berlin and fought for an equalizer, but to no avail.
"It’s difficult at the moment to take positives from small things, but painting everything black doesn’t help either," captain Rocco Reitz said.
"What’s important now is that everyone understands what went wrong, recognises their mistakes, and that we analyse the game together."
Schröder struck a similar note, saying: "It is clear that we must keep our heads up."
