Barcelona superstar Pedri was one of the team’s better performers as they scraped out a narrow 2-1 win over Girona on Saturday.
Pedri scored the team’s all-important opener, but the lead did not last long as Girona equalised through Axel Witsel in the 20th minute.
Apart from his goal, Pedri was a livewire throughout the game, playing a crucial role in orchestrating the play in the middle of the park, before being replaced around the hour mark.
Speaking to the media, Pedri talked about Barcelona’s performance on the night.
What Pedri said after Barcelona’s win over Girona
Reacting to the result, Pedri admitted Barcelona were not very dominant against Girona and that he was not satisfied with the team’s performance.
“I think we never played our best match, we need to improve a lot of things, and I’m not satisfied with the team’s performance, but in the end, we came away with the three points, and that’s the most important thing,” he said.

“It wasn’t a good match from the team, but we came away with 3 points, and that’s what matters most,” he added.
The Spanish international went on to highlight the importance of securing three points, even though Barcelona were far from their usual best.
“I think these are the most important matches, because when you play well and win because you were the best and dominated the entire match, that’s natural.
“But on the days when you’re not at your level, and you don’t do things as they should be done, if you come out of them with the 3 points, that’s very important in your path towards the title at the end of the league,” he said.
Similar words were echoed by Fermin Lopez as well, who pointed out how it is important for Barcelona to win matches like these.
Finally, Pedri talked about Barcelona’s road ahead and how the focus should now shift to the upcoming Champions League game against Olympiacos.
“We need to analyse what we did poorly, try to improve it, and now we must think about the Champions League,” he concluded.
