The Georgia Bulldogs moved up in the SEC standings after beating the Ole Miss Rebels. Who is UGA behind?
The Ole Miss Rebels are no longer undefeated in SEC play. There's a new No. 1 team in the SEC football standings after the Rebels' road loss to the Georgia Bulldogs, The SEC had a historic Week 8.
For the first time in conference history, all 16 teams played conference games in the same week. Across the SEC's eight conference games, six of them were decided by one possession, which shows how narrow the margins are in the country's most competitive conference.
The Texas A&M Aggies take over with the SEC's best record. The Aggies are the SEC's final remaining undefeated team, but had a scare at Arkansas in Week 8. Both Texas A&M and Alabama are 4-0 in SEC play and control their own destiny to play in the SEC championship. Behind Texas A&M and Alabama is Georgia, who is 4-1 in conference play.
Alabama notched a big rivalry win over Tennessee in a game that completely changed when Alabama returned an interception 99 yards for a touchdown late in the first half. Week 8 action featured a pair of overtime games with Missouri getting a double overtime road win at Auburn and Texas winning a defensive brawl in overtime at Kentucky.
Quarterback Diego Pavia and Vanderbilt beat LSU in a major blow to LSU's College Football Playoff hopes. Oklahoma defeated South Carolina to move to 6-1. Florida won at home over Mississippi State as head coach Billy Napier kept his job for another week.
