Texans vs Seahawks Props & Best Bets for Monday Night Football Week 7

Our favorite Texans vs. Seahawks props for Monday Night Football focus on Jaxon Smith-Njigba, C.J. Stroud, and Dalton Schultz.

The Seattle Seahawks have done most of their damage on the road this season in a strong 4-2 start, but it’s time to make Lumen Field a fortress again as they face the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football.

Though both of Seattle’s losses have come at home, my top Texans vs Seahawks props point to a statement performance from the hosts, with Jaxon Smith-Njigba continuing his red-hot form and Mike Macdonald’s defense making life difficult for C.J. Stroud.

Take a closer look at this Monday, October 20, battle with my free NFL picks.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba Over 87.5 receiving yards

If last season was the Jaxon Smith-Njigba breakout year, what do we call his 2025 encore? JSN leads the NFL with 696 receiving yards, and he’s primed for another monster outing on Monday against the Houston Texans

Smith-Njigba has cruised past this 87.5 O/U line in five of his six contests this season, with a catch of 36+ yards in all six of those games. Those big-play fireworks will be more challenging here if the Houston front seven can generate pressure, but I still see JSN getting loose.

He’s also coming off his best stat line of the season — eight grabs for 162 yards against the Jacksonville Jaguars — and the connection with Sam Darnold has propelled the Seattle Seahawks into the thick of the playoff conversation. Their chemistry is the biggest reason for the hosts averaging the fourth-most passing yards per game (252.2) so far this season.

Though the Texans have dominated defensively in their last two games, I’m not overreacting to their success against Cam Ward and Cooper Rush. With JSN getting 9+ targets in four of his six contests this year, look for Seattle’s No.1 receiver to keep rolling.

C.J. Stroud Under 225.5 passing yards

-110 at bet365

Despite Seattle's struggles at home under Mike Macdonald (4-8 straight up), the combination of a talented defense, a rowdy Lumen Field crowd and a primetime night game spells trouble for Stroud and this Houston passing attack.

The Seahawks’ secondary is looking healthier at last, with Devon Witherspoon and Julian Love expected to play on MNF, and this defense limited the Jaguars to just six points through three quarters last weekend.

C.J. Stroud has been held short of this O/U passing yards number in three of his five games this season, and I’m not handing out any prizes for him hitting the Over against Tennessee and Baltimore.

The absence of key target Christian Kirk, who’s sidelined by a hamstring injury, also tips the scales for this Week 7 clash, and it’s fair to wonder how much help Stroud will get from a so-so ground game.

While the Texans have had the luxury of a bye week to plan for this matchup, I’m still banking on the Seahawks wreaking havoc up front and denying Stroud the time he needs to take downfield shots.

Dalton Schultz Over 4.5 receptions

-110 at bet365

With their season in jeopardy, the Texans have wisely made Dalton Schultz a bigger part of the offense in the past few weeks, and he’s rewarded them with steady production.

Schultz has finished with five receptions in three straight outings, and I’m picking the Houston tight end to extend that run here, particularly with Stroud needing to unload passes faster against this fierce Seattle defense. Schultz is also a prime candidate to pick up some of the volume vacated by Kirk.

Though he may not turn those catches into a ton of yardage, Schultz is seeing a steady target share, and he’s provided a safe pair of hands, hauling in 21 of his 27 targets so far this year.

With Nico Collins stretching the field, that may leave some space in the middle of the field for Houston to attack — and that’s where Schultz is most effective. In Seattle’s last home game, Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton had four catches for 81 yards, so intermediate routes may be the visitors’ most efficient offense on Monday.
