Why isn't Brock Purdy playing on SNF?
Brock Purdy isn't playing on Sunday Night Football for the 49ers against the Falcons because of an injury.
He remains out with his turf toe injury.
Purdy missed Weeks 2 and 3 with his Week 1 ailment, then returned in Week 4, but he felt discomfort in that Week 4 loss to the Jaguars and has missed the ensuing three weeks.
The 49ers are also still without standout WR Ricky Pearsall.
Purdy has had a lot of time to recover and still hasn't gotten onto the field.
Jones has been solid for the 49ers, but with just him left of the experienced portion of the depth chart, the fact that Jones has also dealt with injury issues has been quite concerning for the 49ers.
Behind him is just Adrian Martinez, a guy the 'Niners wouldn't want on the field in the regular season.
So San Francisco has to keep Jones intact while crossing its fingers that Purdy gets back soon.
