Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton should be fun with the media this week.

The Denver Broncos somehow pulled off a 33-32 win over the New York Giants on Sunday. If you turned the television off or left the game after the third quarter, yes, you read that correctly.
The Broncos exploded for 33 points in the fourth quarter, setting an all-time record for most points scored in the fourth quarter by a team that had been shut out through the first three quarters.
Broncos fans were trashing the head coach on social media during the game and the media were likely ready to do the same if the blowout victory the Giants were dishing out stood up. Here's an example of some of the more tame posts that were out there.

Questions about whether or not he was going to turn over play-calling duties and coming out on the field to get in the face of a referee after a pass interference call were sure to come. And those questions will still be asked, but winning changes everything.
Though the unsportsmanlike conduct penalty he received for leaving the sideline to question the referee was bad judgment, fans should also appreciate the coach standing up for his players as that was a horrendous call that nearly cost the team the game.
As for the play-calling, it probably could have been better through three quarters, but that doesn't matter much at this particular moment. Winning in the NFL is not an easy thing to do and coaches who have been around for many years, such as Payton, will gladly take those wins no matter how they come.

Payton knows what the team needs to work on going forward. But the sky is not falling in Denver. Far from it, in fact, as the Broncos have now won four games in a row and currently sit in first place in the AFC West.
