Girls hoops: Mariah Turner scores 28 points in Port Huron victory

With a team-high 28 points, Turner led the Red Hawks to a double-digit win in their girls basketball season opener on Tuesday, Dec. 9.

Here are the game results for Tuesday, Dec. 9, in the Blue Water Area.

Port Huron 58, Chippewa Valley 44

Mariah Turner scored a team-high 28 points to lead Port Huron (1-0). Karmea Jordan followed with 15 points.

The Red Hawks head to Dearborn Heights Robichaud at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11.

Algonac 50, Austin Catholic 22

Algonac (1-0) hosts North Branch at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11.

Almont 40, Sterling Heights Stevenson 26

Almont (1-0) welcomes Yale at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11.

Lakeview 48, Marysville 36

Harper Sharrow totaled 10 points for Marysville (0-1). Kendal Quain chipped in eight points while Annika Gellasch added six.

The Vikings visit Richmond at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 10.

Marine City 70, New Haven 30

Payton Cirillo and Audrey Northrup each scored 17 points to guide Marine City (1-0). Finley Hatcher contributed eight points.

The Mariners entertain Marysville at 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 15.

St. Clair 63, Eastpointe 6

All 12 players scored for St. Clair (1-0). The Saints welcome Anchor Bay at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11.

Utica Eisenhower 64, Armada 16

Armada (0-1) travels to Imlay City at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12.

Warren Cousino 39, Port Huron Northern 36

Port Huron Northern (0-1) visits Grosse Pointe South at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11.

Imlay City 61, Lutheran North 45 (Monday)

Alexis Bruyere scored a game-high 28 points for Imlay City (1-0). Savannah Douglas added nine points while Makayla Bruman finished with seven points and 16 rebounds.

The Spartans welcome Armada at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12.
