From being one of the top candidates to leave the club and help Barcelona’s financial situation to being the captain that he is today, Raphinha has come a long way indeed at FC Barcelona.
While the Brazilian was indeed important under Xavi Hernandez, he never really established himself as an untransferable name at the club until Hansi Flick took over and placed faith in his abilities.
Over the past season, his situation has changed dramatically, and he is now one of the pillars of the squad.
Rumours last week had it that the player could leave for Saudi Arabia after the FIFA World Cup, but SPORT now confirm that the truth could not be further off.
An untransferable piece
Indeed, as relayed by the Spanish outlet, Raphinha is now seen as absolutely untransferable for the Catalans, contrary to reports last week.

He is a leading figure in the dressing room and on the field, and Flick sees him to be one of the cornerstones of his project.
Raphinha is happy at the club, and his family is well settled in the city. The player, in fact, is only focused on winning the UEFA Champions League with Barcelona this season and the FIFA World Cup with Brazil next year – two achievements that he dreams of.
Injuries have prevented Raphinha from having the role and importance he would have liked to have so far this season, but he will continue being a Barcelona player after the World Cup, irrespective of how the campaign goes. Nothing can change his mind.
So far this season, Raphinha has produced four goals and three assists in just nine appearances for Barcelona and has missed most of the campaign through injury.
He is now rediscovering his rhythm, and one can expect him to return to the spotlight sooner rather than later.
