The morning commute for Wednesday, December 10th, 2025.
Welcome to the Morning Commute
Today we are talking about Mizzou Football!
While Mizzou awaits its bowl game against Virginia on December 27th, it had six players named to All-SEC teams.
It was no surprise seeing Ahmad Hardy, Zion Young and the other Tigers getting these honors as Missouri continues to prove itself a staple in the SEC.
It’s fair that Damon Wilson and Zion Young didn’t both receive first-team honors, but the race between the two was likely tight as both ended with eight sacks during the regular season. Young found more success finding players other than the quarterback, outnumbering Wilson’s tackle for loss number.
The Tigers doubled their total from last season after having three players receive honors last year (Luther Burden, Armand Membou, Johnny Walker). This also marks the third consecutive year the Tigers have had a first-team All-SEC offensive lineman dating back to Javon Foster in 2023.
We have more discussion on football and basketball, diving into prospects, visits and PFF grades in the Rock M+ forums. Most recently, we’ve got more discussion on the Mizzou’s season grade.

Nothing against the T-Mobile Center, but the Border War shouldn’t be played on a neutral court. The buzz simply wasn’t there, and Fran Fraschilla described it on the broadcast as a Big 12 Tournament Quarterfinal game. There’s nothing you can do about it now as next year’s game will be in Kansas City as well with Mizzou getting the home game — but we can all agree is that it should be played on campus if this series is going to return.
I think the direct comparison of pure energy from last season to this season tells a lot about Sammy’s discussion. Not to mention if the game this season was in Allen Fieldhouse, Kansas might’ve won by 50.
Coleman and Loyd are done with their college careers, Brady and Hill-Lomax jump on to begin theres. Other than that Donovan Olugbode I think it’s fair to have all of these receivers examined in depth as to what they bring to the table and how much more development can be made in an offseason. Personally I’d hit the portal hard for any seasoned receiver, especially one who likes to run block. I would target first any rangy jump-ball types to add some diversity to this unit, but they also need to identify their next great slot receiver to continue the Luther Burden/Kevin Coleman lineage. If Shaun Terry is that guy, cool. If not, go get one.
Definitely some gaps in the wide receiver position for Drinkwitz and company to fill this upcoming offseason. Will be interesting to see which route they take, but I think the incoming freshman are studs.
Sophomore Ahmad Hardy leads a contingent of four Tigers on the All-Southeastern Conference First Team: Hardy (RB); graduate student Keagen Trost (OL); senior Zion Young (DL); and sophomore Josiah Trotter (LB). Juniors Cayden Green (OL) and Damon Wilson II (DL) were named to the All-SEC Second Team.
Again, a strong showing from Mizzou this year in the All-SEC honors. Definitely a trend in the right direction.
Dennis Gates and Mike Kelly returned to Harpo’s for Tiger Talk after an 0-2 week for Missouri men’s basketball. The two talked for the full hour, covering the two losses and also taking a look into the future of the program following the Norm Stewart Classic, which featured all three of the team’s signees from the sixth-ranked class in the nation.
Read up on what Dennis Gates had to say from the latest hoops Tiger Talk.
Over at Rock M+ we have more Mizzoufootball discussion in forums ahead of bowl season, and basketball discussion ahead of SEC play.
