Xabi Alonso's Real Madrid future is on the line in their latest Champions League showdown with Manchester City.
The former playmaker could be set for an early exit from the Santiago Bernabéu if his side slip to defeat against his one-time Premier League adversaries.
But while Alonso's fate hangs in the balance, at least one Los Blancos star will be breathing a sight of relief after Rodrygo broke the deadlock in the Spanish capital.
The Brazil international had been on a remarkable goal drought which stretched back to March and last season's Round of 16 clash with Atlético de Madrid.
After 32 games, however, Rodrygo picked his spot against a very familiar foe.
In total, he has plundered five goals in nine games against City.
Maybe it was written in the stars!
