The (3-10) Washington Commanders will look to sweep the season series with the (2-11) New York Giants for the second year in a row, as the two teams will clash Sunday at MetLife Stadium.

Washington won the Week 1 matchup 21-6, but a ton has changed since then as both teams will be led by different quarterbacks. Marcus Mariota will start in place of the injured Jayden Daniels, and Jaxson Dart supplanted Russell Wilson as the starter in Week 4.

Outside of the fan bases, there’s not much intrigue about a game between two of the worst teams in the league. New York has lost seven straight games, and Washington has lost eight straight.

But anytime there’s a divisional matchup and you think it’s going to be a dud, the teams surprise us and have one of the most entertaining games of the week. Here are four bold predictions in the latest chapter between these two NFC East rivals.

Jaxson Dart will throw for two touchdowns and run for another

The lone positive from the 2025 season for Big Blue is that they’ve finally found their franchise quarterback in Jaxson Dart. The rookie quarterback has accounted for 18 total touchdowns with just three interceptions. More importantly, he grasped the offense quickly and has been productive despite only playing with Malik Nabers for a quarter and a half this season.

He’s had five games this season in which he’s at least thrown for one touchdown and run for another. However, Dart has not accomplished this feat in his last two starts. On Sunday against the Commanders 30th 30th-ranked defense, Dart will get back on track as he will have one of the best games of the season, as he will throw for two touchdowns and run for another.

Terry McLaurin will have over 125 receiving yards and a TD

It’s been a frustrating season for Washington’s best receiver, Terry McLaurin. Injuries have limited him to appearing in just six games, and he has just two touchdowns on the year and has yet to top 100 yards in any game.

With the loss of tight end Zach Ertz due to a torn ACL, the Commanders will rely heavily on the 30-year-old wideout.

In their first game under new defensive coordinator Charlie Bullen, the Giants’ defense allowed 282 passing yards and two passing touchdowns in their 33-15 loss to the New England Patriots. In the season opener, McLaurin had just two receptions for 27 yards. But this week, the veteran receiver will be much more productive as he will have at least 125 receiving yards and a touchdown.

NY Giants defense will have a pick-six against Marcus Mariota

With the additions of free agents Paulson Adebo and Jevon Holland, the defense was supposed to see an increase in the five interceptions that they had in 2024. But through 13 games this season, they have five interceptions, and Adebo and Holland have a combined one interception.

This will be the second week with new defensive coordinator Charlie Bullen calling plays, and the hope is that he can come up with schemes to force turnovers. On Sunday, not only will New York’s secondary intercept Mariota, but they’ll return it for a pick-six and record their first defensive touchdown of the season.

Bobby Wagner will record 20 tackles

Commanders linebacker Bobby Wagner has been an ageless wonder this season and shows no signs of slowing down. The 35-year-old has 130 total tackles, which is third in the NFL, along with three sacks and two interceptions.

He’ll play a pivotal role in both shutting down New York’s ground game and covering tight ends and running backs coming out of the backfield. Wagner has had seven games this season with double-digit tackles, including last week, when he had a season-high 15. Despite missing two practices this week with a knee injury, he’ll set a new season-high with 20 tackles.
