Boys basketball roundup: Eastern, Mason move to 2-0 in CAAC Red

The highlights from Dec. 12 games featuring Greater Lansing teams.

EASTERN 52, FOWLERVILLE 47

Isaiah Canty led all scorers with 21 points to help the Quakers outlast Fowlerville for a CAAC Red home win Ian Curtis picked up 15 points and Raul Romero tacked on 10 points for Eastern (2-1, 2-0). Landon Aeschilman finished with a team-high 17 points and Sam Shrader chipped in seven points for the Gladiators (2-3, 0-2).

MASON 67, HASLETT 46

MASON — Greyson Bayer led all scorers with 17 points to help lead the Bulldogs to a CAAC Red victory over Haslett. Mason Dowdy notched 16 points and Luke Goss chipped in 15 points for Mason (3-1, 2-0). Travis Satterla scored a team-best 12 points and Brogan Ide tacked on 10 points for the Vikings (2-2, 0-2). GRAND LEDGE 67, HOLT 64

HOLT —The Comets (2-0, 2-0) won their second straight and improved with a CAAC Blue win over rival Holt. Brandon Mercer had 18 points and three steals and Michael Aimery had 13 points to lead Holt (1-2, 0-2).

WILLIAMSTON 69, ST. JOHNS 49

WILLIAMSTON — Jameson Conti had 17 points and Tommy Pratt had 15 points for the Hornets in a CAAC Red victory over St. Johns. Jacob Martin contributed 10 points, Brett Palmer added nine points and Gabe Robke scored eight points for Williamston (2-2, 1-1).

FOWLER 56, BATH 43

BATH — Isaac Thelen had 17 points to pace the Eagles in their CMAC win over Bath (1-3, 0-2). Joe Epkey added 12 points and Jonah Thelen scored nine points for Fowler (4-0, 2-0). Calvin Smith had 10 points and five rebounds for Bath.

STOCKBRIDGE 48, SPRINGPORT 34

SPRINGPORT — Jonathan Crow led the Panthers with a team-high 24 points and hauled in nine rebounds to help push Stockbridge to a Big 8 road victory over Springport (3-2, 1-1). Noah Sandecki and Bradley Buddenborg each tacked on six points and dished out six assists for Stockbridge (4-0, 2-0). JV score: Stockbridge 48, Springport 32

LESLIE 63, MANCHESTER 49

LESLIE — The Blackhawks started fast with a 21-12 run in the first quarter to help them secure a Cascades East home win over Manchester (3-1, 1-1). Joel Cranmore notched a team-high 18 points, Roman DeRose scored 17 points, Henry Bradford tallied nine points and Jackson Fossitt and Miles Allard each chipped in eight points for Leslie (3-0, 2-0).

WEBBERVILLE 71, DRYDEN 62

DRYDEN — Dominic Driver finished with a game-high 30 points and hauled in 14 rebounds as the Spartans secured the Paul Grondin Tournament title with a finals win over Dryden (2-2). Dylan Rhodes notched a double-double with 15 points, 11 assists and three steals and Cam Bucchanon added on 15 points for Webberville (5-0). JV score: Leslie 41, Webberville 40

IONIA 68, LAKEWOOD 52

IONIA — Colt Piercefield notched a game-best 26 points, seven rebounds and six steals to lead the Bulldogs to a CAAC White win over Lakewood. Ethan Wenzel and Carter Ralston each chipped in 15 points for Ionia (1-3, 1-0). Bradyn Johnson finished with a team-high 13 points and Skyler Oberlin added 10 points for the Vikings (0-4, 0-1).
