Alexander Isak is out injured for Liverpool once again

One of the most anticipated transfers of the summer window was Isak's move from Newcastle to Liverpool.

Since the window first opened in June, it was clear that the Sweden international was one of the Reds' main priorities with many thinking that he'd form an impressive partnership with Salah.

At the moment, that's been far from the case with the former Real Sociedad man looking miles off the pace.

And now, Slot has shared some news that should massively worry Liverpool's fanbase.

When asked about the potential of Isak and Hugo Ekitike playing alongside one another more often during his pre-Brighton press conference, Slot said the following about Isak's availability.

"Alex got a knock in the first half [against Inter Milan]," he said.

"Let's see how he's recovered from that."

Now that we're a few months into the 2025-26 season, most Liverpool fans likely thought that Isak would be back to his best by now.

Last term, he was one of the Premier League's best strikers with his goals often carrying Newcastle United to wins.

So, when he was signed by Liverpool for £125 million, most thought that he'd make the Reds' strike force close to unstoppable, especially with the form that Salah found himself in last term.

However, as fans know, that's been far from the case and unless Isak has a massively improved second half of the season, his transfer will feel like a waste of money.

Isak's injury history is also becoming a major worry with the striker spending more time on the sidelines than on the pitch.
