The long-awaited heavyweight superfight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua is finally in the works, as the two English superstars are set to meet atop a Riyadh Season mega-event in the second half of 2026. This is according to a recent report by Ring Magazine.

Boxing fans have long wanted a matchup between Fury and Joshua. Both fighters are two of the very best heavyweights of this generation and both carry a massive following in England, as well as internationally. Fury has had greater success as a heavyweight champion — only losing to Oleksandr Usyk twice — but that doesn’t take away from the great things Joshua has done over the past decade.

Both heavyweights are expected to compete in separate fights early next years as part of the new Riyadh Season, but those should be winnable matchups for each fighter to preserve their massive superfight.

Of course, Joshua is currently scheduled to fight Jake Paul next weekend on Netflix in Miami, Florida. While Joshua is a heavy favorite to take care of business and send the YouTube influencer packing, there’s still a small chance Paul plays spoiler and hands Joshua an upset loss to close out 2025. Should that happen, it’s anyone’s guess how Fury vs. Joshua would play out.

Until then, let’s assume Fury will be ending his retirement in 2026 and finally stepping inside of the ring with his fellow countryman.
