Brandon Garrison responds beautifully to benching vs. Indiana

Brandon Garrison provides a big spark for the Wildcats against the Hoosiers

The Kentucky Wildcats finally got the win they have been looking for to gain some momentum this season, knocking off the Indiana Hoosiers by a final score of 72-60. Junior big man Brandon Garrison had a bounce-back game in what was a rough week for the Oklahoma City native.

After being benched by Mark Pope earlier in the week against NC Central, Garrison came off the bench Saturday night in Rupp Arena and gave the Wildcats the spark they’d been looking for all season. He finished the night with six points, five rebounds, two assists, one block, and one steal. The Wildcats were +7 with him on the court against the Hoosiers.

The stat sheet won’t be able to reflect everything that Garrison did on Saturday night. After he was benched Tuesday night, Garrison was poised with effort and intensity on both sides of the floor in the Wildcats’ win over the Hoosiers.

The Wildcats’ big games in December aren’t quite over yet. Pope will face his former Championship-winning head coach, Rick Pitino, on Saturday, December 20th. The game is set for 12:30 p.m. on CBS.
