CAN 2025: here is the target set for Eric Chelle in Nigeria
The Nigerian Football Federation has set the bar high for Eric Chelle. The Super Eagles' head coach will be expected to lead Nigeria to the final of the 2025 AFCON, scheduled to take place in Morocco.
The announcement came from NFF president, Ibrahim Gusau, who confirmed that this ambition was clearly communicated to the coach. In an interview on Eagles FM Radio, the federation president was unequivocal:
The target set for Eric Chelle is to reach the final of AFCON. (...) We will be in the final in Morocco, by the grace of God.
Eric Chelle has accepted this mission and says he's ready to rise to the challenge. As one of the tournament favorites, Nigeria will be aiming for a fourth continental crown at this African showdown.

He also mentioned that he’s not a distraction to the Super Eagles and has never imposed on player selections.
