FC Bayern’s Lennart Karl is a star in the making…
Bayern Munich youngster Lennart Karl continues to rack up accolades as he was voted Man of the Match by fans after his squad earned a 2-2 draw with Mainz 05 in the Bundesliga.
Karl had Bayern Munich’s first goal and was a consistent threat and creator for the Bavarians. The 17-year-old completed 90% of his passes, two of his four crosses, and only lost possession 13 times over the 90+ minutes on the pitch.
During a match where his team had 85% possession overall, Karl was efficient and effective. Unfortunately for Karl, though, this award will be bittersweet given the game’s outcome. Karl did his best to try and push Bayern Munich to the win, including sending a beautiful diagonal cross to Serge Gnabry, who just muffed the opportunity with a bad touch. There was another instance where Karl was surging to the net and wide open, but Nicolas Jackson inexplicably rocketed his pass attempt across the mouth of the goal and watched it evade everyone.
It was that kind of game for the Bavarians. Like Karl’s career, though, onward and upward for the Bavarians.
