The Bengals are the NFL team you get from Temu.
There are 31 multi-billion businesses run like corporations in the NFL , and then there’s the Bengals — who answer the question “What if Temu managed an NFL team?” The organization’s cheapness is legendary, and most of the time it’s just funny, but Sunday went so far beyond the pale it’s a joke.
At a time where people are questioning if Joe Burrow should stay in Cincinnati long-term and potentially waste away his career, the organization decided not to open up enough security lines on game day, causing ludicrous delays.
It appears there are only two gates that were actively open at one entrance, leading to hundreds of people being funneled through security at a snail’s pace. When fans finally made it inside the stadium there was another surprise waiting for them: Seats full of snow!
Pro Football Talk is reporting that the Bengals were in violation of the NFL’s snow and ice removal protocol required by teams, which mandates that teams have a plan in place (including additional staffing), to ensure fans don’t have to sit in snow that has filled the stadium before their arrival. When asked for comment they responded with the following:
“Seat aisles were prioritized and are in good shape. Seats are easily wiped off and ushers are equipped to help there.”
It is NFL policy to require teams to have the aisles clear, which the Bengals did — but also requires them to remove snow from seating areas in addition to walkways. This wasn’t done to the detriment of fans set to attend the game.
