The Green Bay Packers are claiming WR Christian Watson injured his chest, not his shoulder, against the Denver Broncos.
Green Bay Packers receiver Christian Watson went down with a shoulder injury in the early third quarter of the Packers’ matchup against the Denver Broncos. On a deep shot from quarterback Jordan Love, which ended up getting intercepted by Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain II, Watson fell hard on his left shoulder/elbow.
You can find the video of the play below.
On the interception return, Watson remained on the ground in pain and required medical staff to see him on the field. He was able to get up under his own power and walk to the sideline, but he was then immediately taken into the blue medical tent and eventually the locker room.
Officially, the Packers have called the injury a chest injury and have stated that Watson is questionable to return.
Since returning to the roster after fully recovering from a 2024 ACL injury, Watson has been the Packers’ most productive receiver on the team. If Green Bay has to play without Watson, some combination of Dontayvion Wicks and Matthew Golden is likely to replace him opposite Romeo Doubs at outside receiver.
We will continue to update this post when more information is available.
