Atlas Lions extend dominant run in Qatar: Morocco beat UAE 3-0 to reach Arab Cup final

Morocco have secured their place in the final of the Arab Cup after producing commanding 3-0 victory over the United Arab Emirates on Monday at Khalifa International Stadium.

The Atlas Lions delivered composed and clinical performance scoring in each phase of the game to underline their growing authority in the tournament and keep their dream of lifting the title alive.

Early control & First half Breakthrough

Morocco started the semi-final on the front foot asserting control through disciplined possession and sharp movement in the final third.

After early warning header from Walid Azaro was comfortably saved, the breakthrough arrived in the 28 minute. Left-back Hamza El Moussaoui sent in pinpoint cross which Karim El Berkaoui met with powerful header to give Morocco deserved lead.

The Atlas Lions continued to press, with Zahzouh coming close to doubling the advantage before the break while the UAE struggled to disrupt Morocco’s rhythm.

Defensive Solidity & ruthless counters

The UAE attempted to raise the tempo after halftime pushing higher up the pitch in search of equaliser. Their best opportunity came when Bruno Oliveira struck the crossbar from corner in the 52 minute but Morocco’s defensive structure remained unshaken.

Morocco punished their opponents late on. In the 83 minute , a swift counter-attack saw Abderrazak Hamdallah tee up Aschraf El Mahdioui who finished emphatically from inside the box to make it 2-0.

Hamdallah seals It in Stoppage time

The result was put beyond doubt in stoppage time. Substitute Mohamed Boulacsout delivered low pass into the area and Hamdallah applied composed finish in the 90+2 minute to complete the scoring.

Match statistics reflected Morocco’s authority:

Despite registering more shots, the UAE managed just two effort on target, unable to break down Morocco’s organised back line.

Notably Morocco have now conceded only one goal throughout the tournament highlighting their defensive discipline.

With this victory, Morocco advance to the Arab Cup final where they will face the winner of Saudi Arabia vs Jordan, scheduled to kick off later today.
