This is the Maryland Minute, a short story followed by a roundup of Terps-related news.
While Maryland field hockey was unable to make the NCAA Tournament in 2025, defender Josie Hollamon continued to turn heads all over the field.
Hollamon was named a second-team All-American by the National Field Hockey Coaches’ Association, earning a spot on the team for the second straight season. She was a first-team All-American in 2024.
The defender finished the year with five goals — tied for second-most on the team — and an assist, while her steady presence at the heart of Maryland’s defense helped the team record six shutouts on the year.
Hollamon was one of several Terps to play on the United States under-21 national team in the Junior World Cup in early December. The United States earned sixth place, its best-ever finish at the event.
Now, she will turn her attention to her senior season. Returning as captain, Hollamon will be a critical piece as head coach Missy Meharg puts together the puzzle, trying to return the Terps to the NCAA Tournament.
