This just doesn't make a lot of sense.

This is really, really, really weird.
The NFL issued a stat correction for Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams on Wednesday. The correction was issued for Week 6 (and for those not keeping score at home, it's now Week 16.
There was a play for which Williams was originally awarded a negative-5-yard rush. That's been changed to a fumble, a fumble recovery and a 0-yard rush.
And now an official stat correction that could impact your fantasy score from months ago:

One guy actually replied to that post with evidence that that would've changed his fantasy score, and thus his playoff qualification:
And here it is: The guy who lost a fantasy game in Week 6 but retroactively should win (and make the playoffs) based on today’s two-months-later stat change. https://t.co/nmu1PBK0cU

Fantasy sites generally have it explained somewhere that they won't go back longer than a certain period of time to adjust points for stats corrections. This certainly is beyond that length.
It's a tough break for that guy above, who would've had five-tenths more of points without the negative-5 yards.
We have plenty of questions, to be sure.
Mainly: Why did this stat correction just happen 10 weeks later?
Weird stuff all around.
