During his tenure, Parker guided the "Steels" on a remarkable rise, from the second division (Motsebe Foundation Championship) to a consistent position among the elite teams in the Premier Division. This journey culminated in winning the Carling Knockout Cup in 2013, a historic moment for the club and its fans.
It appears that the ambition and continental stature of Tanzanian club Simba were the main draw for Parker, who will succeed Bulgarian coach Dimitar Pantev, who had only been in charge for two months. It is worth noting that Pantiv himself had taken over from Fadlo Davids, who moved on to coach Raja Casablanca of Morocco.
