Virginia Cavaliers defender Laney Rouse signs with Kansas City Current

The KC Current continue to bolster their defense from the NCAA, this time defender aney Rouse from the University of Virginia.

Today, KC Current announced the signing of University of Virginia defender Laney Rouse to her first professional contract through the 2026 season.

With the Virginia Cavaliers, Rouse starred from 2020-2025, earning 97 appearances (86 starts) with over 6,600 minutes played.

Rouse has also been part of the USYNT system at the Under-14, U-16, U-19 and U-20 levels. At the the 2022 Concacaf U-20 Championship she was part of the winning squad including an assist vs. the Dominican Republic as the team won Group E.
