News and Notes for Tuesday, December 23rd, 2025
The Guardians have signed 29 Year Old Reliever Codi Heuer to a minor league contract with an invite to Spring Training. Heuer appeared in just three games last season between the Rangers and Tigers and had an ERA of 5.79 with a FIP of 10.64. The Guardians clearly saw the bullpen as an area of weakness that they needed to address this offseason.
A potential Guardians target Rob Refsnyder signed a 1 year $6.25 million deal with the Seattle Mariners. I think that would’ve been a really good deal for the Guardians but they weren’t able to get it done.
Johnathan Rodriguez went 1-5 in the LBPRC, and Milan Tolentino went 1-3 with an RBI in the LMP.
Longtime Guardians OF prospect Jorge Burgos signed a minor league deal with the Toronto Blue Jays. He likely never would have made it in Cleveland, but it is still sad to see him go after watching him play here for years.
