Brooks Koepka and LIV Golf are officially parting ways
Brooks Koepka is officially leaving LIV Golf.
We have amicably and mutually agreed that Brooks Koepka will no longer compete in the LIV Golf League, following the 2025 season. Brooks is prioritizing the needs of his family and staying closer to home. We appreciate the significant impact he has had on the game and wish him continued success, both on and off the course. LIV Golf’s mission is to expand the game’s footprint to new markets, increase competitive opportunities for current and future players and fuel a thriving and growing fan base worldwide.
The news was shared on LIV Golf’s website in an announcement that Talor Gooch would be taking over as Captain of Smash GC, the LIV Golf team that Brooks Koepka was previously leading. It goes without saying that this is a huge bit of news in the world of golf, even if it had been speculated on some time.
Since the dawn of LIV Golf there has yet to be a move of this variety. While players have left their league there have been none with the career accomplishments that Koepka has. It remains to be seen whether or not Brooks will return to professional golf in the world of the PGA Tour, and what’s more is it remains to be seen how or even if that is possible.
The PGA Tour did release a statement for what it’s worth, but it offered no answer to those questions.
Whatever lies ahead the future of LIV Golf is one that will not include Brooks Koepka.
As you were.
