Matt Campbell and Penn State added to their 2026 class earlier tonight, landing commitments from two former Iowa State signees: OT Mason Bandhauer and OT Pete Eglitis.
Bandhauer is an Iowa State legacy — his father being former Iowa State QB Todd Bandhauer — who made the call for the Cyclones in October 2024, spurning offers from the likes of Nebraska, Kansas State, and Oklahoma State. The family ties weren’t enough for Bandauer to stick around in Ames post-Campbell, as Bandhauer became Penn State’s 7th commit and/or signee in the 2026 class.
Eglitis joined Bandhauer to give Penn State two offensive tackle commits tonight. The Ohio-native has a very solid offer sheet for a mid-three-star prospect, holding offers from Louisville, Missouri, Kentucky, Pitt, Georgia Tech, and Wake Forest. He made official visits to Louisville and Pitt before deciding on Iowa State over the summer, but now, he’ll head to Happy Valley with Matt Campbell and offensive line coach Ryan Clanton.
Penn State now has eight commits/signees in the 2026 recruiting class, though that number should continue to grow as we inch closer toward National Signing Day on February 4th.
