Vinicius Jr and the saga of his future has hogged all the limelight in Spanish media in recent days, and understandably so given his situation in a personal and sporting perspective.

The Brazilian has not enjoyed his best version under Xabi Alonso and does not share a great relationship with the manager. He openly clashed against the coach in El Clasico, and the friction still appears to exist despite the duo openly projecting an alternative image.

In a sporting sense, he has not scored in 17 games in a row for Real Madrid, and his form is also getting into a zone of worry. A combination of factors, thus, has led to the stalling of renewal talks with Real Madrid.

Premier League giant on the horizon

If Vinicius does not renew his deal before June, word has it that Real Madrid will not hesitate to sell him. After all, they cannot afford to lose him on a free transfer and can also use the finances gained to reinforce the defence and midfield.

Now, Defensa Central bring to light a shocking development that a Premier League giant is ready to swoop in for the player should he be available on the market.

The party involved is Chelsea, and their finances permit them to reach the figure Real Madrid desires.

Vinicius’ entourage were aware of Chelsea’s interest in the player and had gone ahead and offered his services to them.

London has thus come up as a new destination possible for the Brazilian, and a deal could be closed around the €150 million ballpark.

It has never been in doubt that Vinicius is one who will defend the Real Madrid crest with his all, but recent times have led to serious friction between the player and the club.

Leaving the discomfort with Alonso aside, the boos directed towards him at the Santiago Bernabeu also affected him deeply.

It thus remains to be seen what decision the winger makes about his future. Saudi Arabia and PSG were already known to be interested in him, but Chelsea’s entry opens a door to the Premier League – one that may just tempt the player a little more.
