In a Cleveland Browns season that has been plagued with a number of issues, there are still some positive takeaways.
It is New Year’s Eve, so it’s time to talk about last year. Despite not having many wins, there are a few positives and encouraging aspects about our favorite team’s season.
The Rookies Shined
Even with all the problems and struggles that the Cleveland Browns experienced this season, this year’s rookie class was a major bright spot. On the defensive side of the ball, Carson Schwesinger is poised to win defensive rookie of the year, and Mason Graham had a really quality season. On offense, Harold Fannin Jr. developed into a key playmaker, and Quinshon Judkins was highly productive before his injury. In the final weeks of the season, Shedeur Sanders has even shown promise for the future.
Defensive Effort
During a season with no real playoff expectations, numerous defensive players still brought strong effort and commitment week after week. Against the Steelers, Schwesinger was clearly battling a hamstring injury throughout the game, but he didn’t let that stop him. He still played 100% of the defensive snaps in the game because it was still important to him to be out there for his team.
Overall, there were still positive moments in a season where it felt like there wasn’t much to cheer about. Creating a foundation with the younger players in the organization and having guys show up and give effort really matters when it comes to creating culture within the building.
