Two Israeli internationals were reported on Wednesday to be on the verge of changing clubs, with goalkeeper Daniel Peretz set for a loan move to England’s Southampton and winger Manor Solomon expected to leave Villarreal early for Fiorentina.
In Germany, BILD reported that Peretz, 25, will depart Hamburger SV with immediate effect and join Southampton on loan until the summer of 2026. Peretz is on HSV’s books on a season-long loan from Bayern Munich, but he has not made a league appearance so far, featuring only in cup matches.
Peretz joined Bayern from Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2023 and was loaned to HSV this past summer in search of regular minutes. Bayern’s official announcement of the loan described the move as a chance for the Israeli international to gain consistent playing time in the Bundesliga.
Peretz publicly signaled frustration earlier this month, saying he expected to be the first-choice goalkeeper and that he was “not happy” with his lack of minutes. Southampton, according to BILD’s report, sits mid-table in the Championship after 24 matches.
Separately, Cartilage Free Captain, an SB Nation Tottenham Hotspur site, reported that Fiorentina has reached an agreement to sign Solomon, 26, from Tottenham, with his current loan at Villarreal set to be terminated. The report cited transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, who said the move is structured as a loan to Fiorentina with an option to buy.
Solomon on loan to Villarreal
Tottenham had announced in September that Solomon joined Villarreal on loan for the 2025-26 season, and The Jerusalem Post previously covered the move as a new chapter for the Israeli winger. If the Fiorentina deal is finalized as reported, it would mark Solomon’s second change of scenery this season as he looks for a steadier role.
As of Wednesday night, the reported moves had not been confirmed publicly by the clubs involved. Still, the twin developments would represent a notable January reshuffle for Israeli players in Europe, with Peretz seeking minutes in England and Solomon potentially heading to Serie A for a fresh start.
