Leeds United boss Daniel Farke says he is hopeful that duo Sebastiaan Bornauw and Ilia Gruev will be able to play against Manchester United on Sunday.

Both were withdrawn during Leeds’ spirited 0-0 draw with Liverpool with cramp.

And Farke says the quick turnaround means he will have some late decisions to make for their next clash against Man Utd.

“Both cramps, which is understandable after so much workload,” Farke said on the duo being taken off.

“For Sebastiaan, his first game in the starting line-up and for Ilia, the first game for a while.

“We had to invest a lot today. I hope they can recover quickly and well and we’ll see. There’s probably some late decisions for Sunday, where we also have the earliest possible kick-off, straight after breakfast more or less after a late kick-off today. Manchester United have had two days more or less on the sofa. Whatever.

“We will find solutions for this fixture at Elland Road. Even if the legs will be a bit tired, we’ll have a chance and we’ll go for it again on Sunday but I hope that both Sebastiaan and Ilia are available.”

Farke also hailed the resilience of his side to keep Liverpool from scoring.

“To come back with a point, hard fought but also in the end well deserved, with a clean sheet, it’s not just good for the table but also good for the mood in the dressing room, good for the confidence, also many fringe players involved today which is good for the spirit within the group,” the Leeds boss said.

“It’s a really good evening for all of us.”
