FC Bayern could have competition for Nico Schlotterbeck.
Arsenal to make play for Goretzka? (Football Fancast)
For a guy, who is much maligned these days, Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka has some important fans — one of them being Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta (at least per this report):
One position in which Arteta is well-stocked is central midfield, with Rice and Martin Zubimendi forming quite the partnership, but the north Londoners have now been in contact over a move for Bayern Munich star Leon Goretzka.
That is according to a report from Caught Offside, which states Arsenal have been approached by the representatives of the midfielder, who has the same agent as Kai Havertz, although they are more likely to wait until the summer before pursuing a move, at which point he may well be available on a free transfer.
However, there are a whole host of clubs in the race for the German’s signature, with bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur currently in pole position, while the likes of Atletico Madrid, Sevilla and Manchester United are also named as potential suitors.
Arsenal would seem like an odd landing spot for the Germany international, but many coaches will look at Goretzka’s physical traits and think they can unlock the best of him. Maybe that will happen, maybe it will not, but it does appear that he will have the chance to prove himself at a new club next season.
Could Kane to Barca work? (Sports Illustrated)
One writer from Sports Illustrated thinks that FC Barcelona could attempt to make a move for Harry Kane and that it might not be all that crazy to think that a transfer could happen this summer:
As unrealistic as Kane’s transfer may seem presently, the same could’ve been said in the months prior to the last time Barcelona attempted to whisk one of the best strikers in the world away from Bayern Munich. In the end, the pipe dream became a reality, as Lewandowski left Bavaria for Catalonia.
Kane’s situation is simply too similar to ignore. A striker in his mid-thirties still putting up prolific numbers in the Bundesliga being the target of a financially struggling Barcelona.
Barcelona attempting to sign Kane during the January window seems almost impossible, but the landscape could be different next summer. The Catalans will have presidential elections at some point later in the year, and so far, would-be candidates have made the promise of a blockbuster signing a key part of their unofficial campaigns.
Kane’s Bayern Munich contract is set to expire at the end of the 2026–27 season. With only a year left on his deal, the club could be open to negotiating his exit if a renewal isn’t agreed upon beforehand, the same exact situation Lewandowski was in back in 2022. If Kane joins Barcelona next summer, he would be just one year younger than the Pole was when he joined the Catalans.
As far-fetched as Kane joining Barcelona might look right now, it’s not as unrealistic as it might seem on the surface. If the Catalans want to make this dream transfer come true, all they must do is follow the exact same formula they utilized to sign the player Kane would now arrive to replace.
Unless there is a major change of heart from Kane or Bayern Munich, this story seems like wishful thinking.
Sieb getting interest (BuLi News)
Bayern Munich loanee Armindo Sieb is reportedly getting a lot of interest on the transfer market:
Armindo Sieb is on loan at Mainz from Bayern Munich until the end of the season, but a new report has sparked speculation that his spell could be cut short.
According to RTL/ntv and sport.de, several clubs are showing interest in the 22-year-old forward. The strongest interest is said to come from the English Championship, with clubs in Belgium, Switzerland, as well as the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga also keeping tabs on Sieb.
Sieb is not likely going to be in Bayern Munich’s plans for the future, but if he can continue to excel, he could play a role in helping the club bolster its coffers in the summer.

Slot sees better acclimation, bright future for Wirtz (Liverpool Echo)
Liverpool boss Arne Slot thinks good things await Florian Wirtz.
“I can only answer from my experience being an old man – or at least much older than him,” Slot said. “The first few months being in a new country – because it was also my first time living abroad – it is different. Your life is a bit upside down. That for a manager is not the biggest problem because I do not have to perform on the pitch but I can fully understand some players need time to adapt off the pitch.
“The biggest adaptation coming from abroad to this league is the intensity. Even when we played once a week, you can see Hugo had a cramp after 70 minutes. I did not take Florian out because he was playing bad, it was because he was hardly able to keep running any more. That tells you the situation about the new players we bring in – how big a step it is to adjust to these intensity levels.”
