That was quick! Good luck, Jamie!
Just as I thought the Manor Solomon DONE DEAL piece would be the final one for the day, they pull me back in! I’m pretty sure that’s how the quote goes.
That’s right, as we wrote earlier today, Jamie Donley is headed to Oxford United on loan – and now it’s official:
Though Donley in the pic above looks like he’s thoroughly perplexed about the whole affair, his recall and subsequent loan back out is hardly a surprise. He barely played during his time at Stoke City, and even though by all accounts acquitted himself well when he saw the pitch, his situation did not appear to be improving.
At this stage of his development, Donley needs minutes; and a loan to Oxford United, a club that desperately needs passing in its midfield (sound familiar?) means he should get those. An added bonus will be the chance to link up with Spurs Youth teammate Will Lankshear, already in the midst of a reasonably successful loan spell at Oxford. Hopefully their relationship both on and off the pitch can pay dividends for the both of them.
All the best at Oxford United, Jamie – I hope this loan goes better than the last one!
