Inter Milan and Al-Hilal have reached an agreement in principle for João Cancelo, with the two clubs settling the framework of a loan deal for the Portuguese wingback.

According to SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, Al-Hilal have agreed to contribute significantly to Cancelo’s salary.

Indeed, in order to facilitate his loan stay.

The Saudi club are keen to resolve the situation quickly.

Therefore, they are prepared to cover a large share of the remaining wages.

The final decision now rests with João Cancelo himself.

The 1994-born defender is eager to return to Europe and remains attracted by the idea of rejoining Barcelona.

However, Inter are pushing to close the deal and convince him that Milan is the right destination. Juventus remain a distant option at this stage.

Al-Hilal To Cover Cancelo Wages For Inter Loan Move

Financially, Cancelo is set to earn around €7.5 million over the next six months.

Inter have proposed to cover €3 million of that figure, with Al-Hilal paying the remainder.

On a pro-rata basis, that would place Cancelo on the equivalent of a €6 million net annual salary, making him one of the highest earners in the squad alongside Marcus Thuram, and behind only Lautaro Martinez, Nicolò Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu.

The talks between the clubs could also extend further. Al-Hilal have shown interest in Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij, with Simone Inzaghi open to a reunion with one of his former defenders.

Inter now wait for Cancelo’s final answer, hoping to secure a high-profile reinforcement for the decisive months of the season.
