Premier League bosses speak ahead of midweek action

Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris was speaking slightly earlier this morning and had this to say on his side's clash with Brentford ...

"We’ll see this morning,” Le Bris said on Isidor. “He’ll have a test in this morning on the pitch to see if he can be available.”

“Dan Ballard is ok after the weekend. Everyone else is available at the minute.”

Alongside Isidor’s absence through injury, Sunderland had six players missing against Spurs due to their involvement in the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Le Bris was asked if he has any plans to strengthen his squad in January: “Nothing at the minute,” he said.

“The period is really interesting because it’s tough and even with several absentees, the level of the squad remains really consistent, which is really positive.

“It shows the depth of the squad, the versatility of three or four of our players, which is really useful for game management. So if we can improve and reinforce the squad, I think we’ll try, but this information is really important for the next transfer window.”

McFarlane on Fulham test ...

"Same thing as we did against City, trying to prepare with the limited time we have had. We know the belief we have in them and we want to reinforce that."

And his conversation with Rosenior ...

"The conversation was really brief. We will keep most of that private. I wouldn't be giving him any advice. Liam is a really accomplished coach and has had a wonderful start to his career."

On Rosenior's appointment ...

"I spoke with Liam briefly last night, he is really excited about taking the role. He is going to be at Cobham later today so I will catch up with him. I'm leading the game tomorrow and hopefully we can give him the three points."

The Chelsea boss on his injury news ...

"They are all training today. We have training in a few hours. We will have a better idea after the session."

Despite Rosenior's appointment, Calum McFarlane will be speaking to the press in 10 minutes or so.

It's only Tuesday but it's already been a major week for managerial comings-and-goings in the Premier League. Yesterday saw Ruben Amorim sacked by Manchester United and earlier today Liam Rosenior was hired as the new Chelsea boss. You can read more about the Englishman's appointment here.
