BJ Penn was scheduled for a court-ordered mental health exam back on Dec. 29 in Hilo but the former UFC two-division champion never showed up. The presiding judge in Penn’s ongoing legal case is trying to determine “The Prodigy’s” competency before moving forward; however, it doesn’t sound like Penn is making it easy.
The court is expected to rule on a possible extension for the psychological exam later today.
It’s hard to imagine Penn getting a clean bill of health considering his recent troubles. In addition to his imaginary war with “crazy identity thieves,” The 47 year-old Hawaiian has continued to stalk and harass his mother while celebrating his defiance of her court-ordered restraining order.
Penn was arrested for the sixth time within a six-month period back in November.
“The state is ganging up and trying to do everything they can to shut me down to shut me up and to steal my money,” Penn wrote on Instagram. “Everyone out there has to know that this can happen to all of us at any time. It’s time for us to start pulling together and start teaming up, we cannot let the coalition or the state do this to us. We need to come together and unite.”
Penn (16-14-2) has not competed since losing to Clay Guida at UFC 237 back in early 2019.
