Bayern Munich News: Pundit says Harry Kane would be ‘waste of money’ for Real Madrid; West Ham eyeing Bayern defender?; and MORE!

FC Bayern could have competition for Nico Schlotterbeck.

Inking Kane would be “waste of money” per one pundit (Barca Universal)

According to pundit Michael Owen, FC Barcelona should not take a run at Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane because it would be “waste of time”:

Former England striker Michael Owen has advised Barcelona to think carefully before considering a move for Bayern Munich forward Harry Kane. While Owen made it clear that he still holds Kane in very high regard as a footballer, the former Real Madrid player believes that signing the English striker at this stage of his career would be a financial mistake.

Speaking to Goal (h/t SPORT), Owen expressed surprise at reports linking Barcelona and other clubs with Kane.

“The problem with Harry Kane is that, although he is still an incredible player, signing him is a waste of money. You’re signing him now, but how many years do you get for that? One, two, three, four? I don’t know.
“Obviously, he’s not showing any signs of ageing, but paying these amounts for a few years of performance seems incredible to me,” he explained.

The former England striker went a step further by stating that Kane should never have left English football in the first place.

“I would have loved him to stay in the Premier League. I felt he had all the cards and gave them away for a very low price. I said that at the time too.”

Owen might be a little shortsighted here. Not that anyone here would advocate for a Bayern Munich player to go to Real Madrid, but Kane could probably be lethal in Madrid if some of the other stars wanted to share the ball. The good part is that Real Madrid will not have to worry about wasting any loot if Bayern Munich inks Kane to a contract extension soon, which is expected.

Cherries coming back for Leweling? (Sacha Tavolieri)

The craziness of rumors surrounding Bournemouth (!?) and VfB Stuttart’s Jamie Leweling continues:

🇩🇪🍒 AFC Bournemouth are pushing for Jamie Lewelling!

🔄 In search of a replacement for Antoine Semenyo, the Cherries have set their sights on VfB Stuttgart right winger Jamie Lewelling considered a concrete option for this winter.

This could be a case study for the discussion surrounding some of Dwight Yorke’s statements from last week where many BFW community pointed out the built-in advantage for English Premier League clubs to be able to gamble and throw more money to lure Bundesliga players and not worry to much about overpaying or even being wrong on a player assessment.

Hammers to take flier on Boey? (Hammers News)

With the market thinning out, West Ham United might be considering a run at Bayern Munich right-back Sacha Boey…maybe:

West Ham were linked with a move for Sacha Boey of Bayern Munich back in December. The 25-year-old Frenchman has found regular starts hard to come by under Vincent Kompany this season.

Konrad Laimer, Joshua Kimmich and Josip Stanisic have all been selected ahead of Boey at times, meaning he has started only a third of their 15 Bundesliga matches and none of their Champions League fixtures.

Boey, then, probably needs a move. Whether West Ham United need him is another matter entirely.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka will return in good time from the Africa Cup of Nations. And, in his absence, Kyle Walker-Peters has been one of the club’s more consistent performers.

Yet with BILD reporting that Bayern are willing to negotiate a deal in the region of £13 million, and with director of sport Max Eberl opening up the window, the Hammers may yet come to the decision that this is one of those ‘market opportunities’ that demands their attention.

The longer this goes on, the more the price on Boey probably drops.

Paris FC looking to ink Ramos (Foot Mercato via ESPN)

In maybe the weirdest news of the past few days, Paris FC is attempting to sign Sergio Ramos:

Paris FC are set to make an attempt to sign Sergio Ramos, who is now a free agent after leaving Monterrey. Ramos, 39, is keen to find a new club this winter and wants a return to Europe to boost his hopes of playing at the 2026 World Cup for Spain but would reportedly prefer a “project with greater sporting visibility.”

Inter looking for goalkeeper (Tuttosport via ESPN)

Inter Milan is still looking for a successor to Yann Sommer:

Internazionale are looking for a replacement for goalkeeper Yann Sommer and Tottenham Hotspur’s Guglielmo Vicario is leading the way, while Cagliari’s Elia Caprile and Freiburg’s Noah Atubolu are also being considered.

Hamann says United should pursue Adeyemi (JeffBet)

Noted pundit Didi Hamann thinks that Manchester United should attempt to bring in Borussia Dortmund star Karim Adeyemi.

“Adeyemi at Borussia Dortmund is always talked about in Germany. He’s a player I could see making a move to the Premier League. He nearly went to Napoli, but that fell through,” Hamann told JeffBet.net. “Adeyemi has been the only consistent thing at Dortmund recently, and he would do well in the Premier League. He’s very physical for his height and incredibly fast, no one can catch him. Every club needs pace, and he could play for pretty much any side.

“Man United could look at bringing Adeyemi (this month), Mbeumo and Diallo have gone to AFCON, but it will be hard to get Dortmund to sell him because he’s so important to them.”
