Colby Covington lived up to his billing with a dominant Real American Freestyle (RAF) debut earlier tonight (Sat., Jan. 10, 2026) at RAF 05 LIVE on FOXNation from inside Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Fla., stopping former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold via technical fall.
This was an important matchup for Covington for more than one reason. Not only was he headlining his RAF debut and trying to save a card without Bo Nickal, but “Chaos” was trying to experience the feeling of victory again having not tasted a win inside the Octagon since early 2022. Covington was expected to be able to get past Rockhold in their main event showdown, but it was still a sizeable test for his return to the mat.
Covington not only delivered a flawless performance against Rockhold by beating him via technical fall, but the UFC welterweight contender utilized his post-fight speech time to call out Octagon legend Georges St-Pierre. It was a great performance by Covington on all levels and a tremendous way to start 2026, especially as he tries to land a spot on the upcoming UFC White House card.
