Roma’s management is moving quickly to deliver the offensive reinforcements requested by Gian Piero Gasperini.
In recent hours, the name of Robinio Vaz, born in 2007 and owned by Marseille, has continued to receive attention.
Despite Sporting Director Frederic Massara calling the move “quite unlikely” before the match against Sassuolo, citing fierce competition, diplomatic channels with the French club remain open.
The relationship between the two clubs is strengthened by the presence in Marseille of two former Giallorossi players, Benatia and Balzaretti, a factor that could guarantee Roma a preferential path.
According to Il Messaggero, Vaz’s contractual situation favors a possible exit: the young striker has refused to extend his contract with OM, making a separation likely.
Although the initial valuation is close to 30 million euros, the deal could close for between 20 and 22 million, also because Marseille will have to pay 15% of the future resale fee to Sochaux.
Another obstacle for Frederic Massara is the presence and caliber of potential candidates. Clubs like Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund, and Manchester United have made moves, in addition to enquiries from PSG, AC Milan, and Napoli. An off-market offer from the Premier League could derail Roma’s plans.
