The Bruins brought the absolute thunder down on New York as they won a historic 10-2 game!
Hell fucking YES they dropped 10 on New York!
There are so many goals in this game and there’s a back-to-back that I decided to just give you the highlights of all of them.
Enjoy. After the Rangers scored their first goal…
…The Boston Bruins put belt to ass for 60 straight minutes. 10-2 Bruins Win!
Game Notes
- Your TOI Leader was Charlie McAvoy, who had 21:26 logged last night.
- The Bruins got to see what the New York Rangers are without their vaunted goaltender Igor Sheshterkin, and as it turns out, the New York Rangers suck out loud. The Bruins were allowed gorgeous opportunities to score all night, and with Sheshterkin out, the Rangers defense was effectively bullied all night, forcing a goalie change and a historic night in Boston.
- Khusnutdinov and Pavel Zacha had hat tricks tonight; as I’m sure you’ve read this is the first time since 1964 since the Bruins have ever had two players record double hatties on home ice.
- In the middle of all this it can be easy to lose the guys who didn’t get hat tricks, but this was a phenomenal night for Fraser Minten, who got two goals, and Charlie McAvoy, who got his 2nd of the year. Good for both of them!
- David Pastrnak had the first 6 point game in almost 50 years for the Boston Bruins, joining Ken Hodge and Bobby Orr as the only players in team history to do such a thing. Just another moment on the pile for the legend. What a special player.
- I’m sure this game will produce some all-timer whining from JT Miller.
- Jeremy Swayman, now properly rested and to be clear, was not doing nothing all game, had a pretty good finish; .931 SV% on 29 shots is nothing to sneeze at. Now, let’s make absolutely sure Korpi starts today. Okay?
- The last time the Bruins scored 10 in a game was back in 1988, when they absolutely pasted the Blackhawks in a 10-3 contest. That game featured Cam Neely with a 7 point night, Craig Janney with a 3 assist night, Steve Kasper with two goals, and 5 other Bruins scoring in that contest.Tidy bit of work by the B’s tonight. Tidy bit indeed.
The Bruins continue things on today against the Pens! That game is at 5pm EST.
See you there!
