Barcelona clashed heads with Real Madrid earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a win in the Spanish Super Cup final. The Catalan club made a good start to the game and scored the opening goal in the 36th minute when Raphinha found the back of the net. However, Vinicius Jr. equalised for Los Blancos in injury time. Robert Lewandowski put Barca 2-1 ahead soon after, but Gonzalo Garcia equalised in the dying embers of the first half. Hansi Flick’s men went into the half-time interval with a 2-2 scoreline.
Raphinha ended up scoring the winning goal for Barcelona in the 73rd minute. Frenkie de Jong was sent off by the referee in injury time, but the Catalan giants hung on and earned a narrow 3-2 win in the final.
