Brentford are preparing to formalize their interest in Lazio winger Matteo Cancellieri, with an official opening bid expected to be delivered by Wednesday.

According to Alfredo Pedullà, the Premier League side has fully confirmed their intention to move for the 2002-born attacker following a series of successful scouting missions.

Notably, the Bees’ decision to proceed comes after their representatives observed Cancellieri during Lazio’s recent clash with Fiorentina and again during Sunday’s match against Hellas Verona. Furthermore, the financial framework for the proposal is already clear; the London club intends to submit an offer to Lazio valued at €15-16 million, including bonuses.

Indeed, Cancellieri’s current contract with the Bianconeri runs until June 30, 2027, but the significant figure being prepared by Brentford could tempt the Italian club into a sale this winter. For the player, a move to the Gtech Community Stadium would represent a major step into the Premier League after cementing his place in the Lazio rotations this season.

Consequently, the next 48 hours will be decisive for the negotiation. As Pedullà notes: “By Wednesday, Brentford intends to send Lazio a proposal of 15-16 million including bonuses.” Should the Italian side accept these terms, the winger could be heading to London before the end of the week.
