While Arizona’s special teams in 2025 were far from perfect, there were some unsung heroes on that unit that didn’t get much attention despite performing well all season. Ian Wagner was almost automatic on kickoffs, while Isaac Lovison was steady all year with his punting.
Both have graduated, but the UA may have found someone who can handle both roles.
Former Washington State kicker/punter Ryan Harris has committed to the Wildcats, bringing with him one season of eligibility.
The 6-foot, 207-pound Harris spent two years with WSU, and last season handled both punts and kickoffs. He averaged 40.7 yards on the former and had 40 kickoffs result in touchbacks.
Lovison averaged 42.6 yards and Wagner was 68 for 78 on touchbacks.
Harris, who began his career at Boise State and also spent a season in junior college, will get a change to face his most recent school when Arizona visits Washington State on Sept. 26. The Cougars have signed a couple ex-UA players this offseason in defensive back Jshawn Frausto-Ramos and defensive lineman Eduwa Okundaye.
Of Arizona’s 17 NCAA transfer portal pickups, two are on special teams. The Wildcats’ first commitment was former Arkansas State long snapper Drew Nicolson. They also added Australian punter Chase Ridley, a 2026 recruit who had originally signed with West Virginia.
