FC Barcelona, through its sporting director Deco, broke its silence just hours after Xabi Alonso was dismissed by their fierce rivals, Real Madrid.
Deco addressed Xabi Alonso's departure from Real Madrid on the El Larguero show on Cadena SER. The decision came just 24 hours after Barça's thrilling 3-2 Supercopa de España victory. According to Barça's sporting director, the relentless media pressure and sky-high expectations surrounding football giants like Real Madrid or FC Barcelona always make managerial roles more challenging. "Xabi Alonso’s work started well, he hadn’t been in charge for long, but after a defeat to their biggest rivals, everything gets complicated. I can't say much more because I’m not involved in their day-to-day management." he admitted.
