Giacomo Raspadori is set to join Atalanta in a permanent deal from Atletico Madrid, and while this could point to an imminent sale of Ademola Lookman to Fenerbahce, reports in Italy claim that La Dea are still keen to keep hold of the Nigeria international beyond the January transfer window.

What Atalanta’s Raspadori deal means for Lookman

According to reports from various outlets on Tuesday, Atalanta have sealed a deal with Atletico Madrid to bring Raspadori back to Serie A in a permanent deal understood to be worth around €22m-€25m.

Atalanta have beaten both Roma and Lazio to the signing of the 45-time Italy international.

A potential €25m deal is a considerable investment for Atalanta in January, especially when Raspadori’s €3.5m-per-season salary is factored in.

Putting the Rasapadori deal to one side, there have also been resurging reports of interest in Atalanta forward Lookman over the last few weeks.

The Nigeria international has been linked with moves away from Bergamo in each of the last four transfer windows, and has most recently been tipped with a move to Turkey. There had been reports of interest from Galatasaray during the first half of the 2025-26 season, and more recently from Fenerbahce.

While the arrival of Raspadori could logically lead to the departure of Lookman, reports in Italy claim that Atalanta are keen to keep both forwards on board, at least until the end of the 2025-26 campaign.

Instead, Daniel Maldini, linked with a potential move to Juventus, and Lazar Samardiz, also of interest to several Serie A clubs, are more likely to leave Atalanta in January according to reports from Calciomercato.com.

Still, nothing can be ruled out for Lookman. As Calciomercato writes, if there were to be a spectacular offer for the Nigeria international, like the one that saw Mateo Retegui sold to Al-Qadsiah in the summer, then it would be difficult for La Dea to say no.
