Cancellieri Reportedly Agrees Terms With Brentford but Lazio Seek Higher Offer

Lazio winger Matteo Cancellieri has reportedly agreed personal terms with Brentford, who have been pushing for his signature over the past few days.

Brentford Offer €15m for Matteo Cancellieri

The Premier League high-flyers had scouted the 23-year-old in the Biancocelesti’s last two matches against Fiorentina on Wednesday and Hellas Verona on Sunday, and were convinced by what they saw. The Bees have been expected to submit an offer this week, and according to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà, Lazio received an official bid on Tuesday.

Lazio Ask Brentford to Raise their Offer

As the transfer market reveals, Brentford’s offer is worth €11 million as a fixed fee, in addition to €4 million in bonuses, thus taking the total to €15 million. Moreover, Pedullà claims that the West Londoners have reached an agreement with Cancellieri, who is ready to make the move. However, Lazio are holding out for a more lucrative offer, requesting €18 million to part ways with the Roman.

Conflicting Reports Regarding Cancellieri to Brentford

On the contrary, other sources in the Italian media, including La Lazio Siamo Noi, insist that Brentford have yet to make a concrete offer for Cancellieri, but have only enquired about the player’s availability, as other suitors have.

For his part, Italian journalist Damiano Er Faina believes that the Premier League club has yet to reach an accord with the player’s entourage over personal terms. So while the situation remains shrouded in mystery amidst all the conflicting reports, the next hours or days could shed some light on the situation.
