Cam Smith commits to LIV Golf: ‘I made a decision to come here and I stand by it’

Cam Smith has committed to staying with LIV Golf

Cam Smith will not be following Brooks Koepka from LIV Golf to the PGA Tour.

The world of professional golf experienced one of its biggest shakeups in recent memory on Monday when word broke that Koepka is indeed returning to the PGA Tour. To be clear Koepka is doing so as a part of the Tour’s new “Returning Members Program” that offers amnesty, for lack of a better word, to players who meet certain criteria.

Of the players at LIV Golf the criteria also applied to Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm, and Cam Smith (the criteria was having won The Players or a major championship between 2022 and 2025).

Cam Smith announced on Tuesday that he will not be taking the offer.

It appears that Cam Smith is comfortable in his current setup with LIV Golf and he has made that clear. There are still two other players who could leave, though.

LIV Golf actually held a captain’s press conference on Tuesday and both DeChambeau and Rahm addressed their futures, although they did use somewhat vague terms.

Bryson noted that he was contracted through the 2026 season. Rahm mentioned that he wans’t “planning” on going anywhere, but as all of this has shown us plans can always change.

That is the latest update on this front. What will the next one bring?
